Doing the Dishes.. Self Care, Right?

Doing the dishes is a form of self care.

I swear I'm not pulling that one out of my ass!

It is a way to clean up your space which alleviates anxiety and low moods.

Plus, it's a mindless activity which can render it meditative..

We all know meditation is often a suggested form of self care for its many benefits.

While washing the dishes recently I came to two important realizations. It doesn't matter what they were but more the fact that this happened.

It got me thinking..

What other mundane, but necessary, activities do we all partake in and take for granted?

  • Folding laundry.

  • Emptying the dishwasher.

  • Decluttering (assuming big decisions aren't involved)

  • Brushing your teeth.

  • Filing your nails.

  • Etc..
