The important of your circle

“What does that title even mean?” you may be wondering.. I’m talking about the people you surround yourself with. The ones that are privvy to all that goes on in your life. To your goals, dreams and desires. You know the ones – your friends that you’ve probably known forever and gone through thick and thin with. Yeah, those. Keep reading for more!

Guess what? Those friends, as much as they “get” you and support you, may not have the same interests as you. And, you know what? That’s OK! As long as they’re not holding you back, that is. Your circle also contains newer friends that you have accumulated along the way.

I’ve been a really lucky girl throughout this prep. I met a few new girls that have already been through competing and they have shown me such unwavering support along the way. They have also put up with my ridiculous questions! I’ve also been lucky in the sense that my non-competing friends, even those with no connection to the fitness world, have been such pillars to me. Even at the office, my coworkers have been amazing – no one makes me feel weird for eating all the time or turning down junk. They, instead, commend me on my discipline and what a great job I’m doing.

The other day I posted the following on the Mitzfitness Facebook page and I still stand by it – I’m a lucky girl.

"Surround yourself with people that either share your goals or support your goals. At the moments you need it most, they might surprise you with the perfect message or gesture to lift your spirits and remind you why you are striving for that goal in the first place!"

I don’t know if other competitors have problems in this area but if you are competing or thinking of competing just know – your circle can make a huge difference in the mental game leading up to the competition. I strongly suggest trying to connect with others that have done what you are you doing. It really does help.

As an aside – there are 30 more days until my competition! I am 4 days in to my new plans and still feeling great. I am looking forward to seeing changes every few days now that crunch time has started.

31 days out and loving it!

There is no doubt in my mind that I will be ready to hit that stage on October 3. I am so invested in this and want it so badly. I am giving and will continue to give this prep my all.
